Born in Calgary, Alberta to a Punjabi mother and French-Canadian father, Tanya Theberge grew up an army brat, spending her formative years in Alberta, Germany and northern Ontario.
Theberge began her design education at the Alberta College of Art and Design.
In 2011, she enrolled in fashion design studies at George Brown College to further her technical skills. In the summer of 2014, she fulfilled a life-long dream, studying advanced draping at the prestigious L’ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in Paris.
Theberge androgynous collection debuted at Fashion Art Toronto in 2016. From there she was invited to compete in a couture design competition using recycled denim that was judged by some of Canada's fashion elite, including Greta Constantine. Her design was selected, along with six other winners. Theberge was awarded an opportunity to create a capsule collection with a focus on sustainably sourced materials.
